Surprise, surprise!

I was prepared to a easy-listening concert, just hanging there, a little bit of dreaming… And I was pretty surprised: it really rocked! Wow! The guitar player, a she, was great, she was really much into what she was doing. I was very close to the stage, means second row, and I got even more surprised when she came onto it: Heather Nova. She’s sooooo tiny! Really. And very lean too. Just her arms, they look like the arms of a construction worker – must be from guitar playing :-)

So, as I said, I was pretty surprised how much action there was. She has a really good band but as well alone on stage she was persuasive. I was thrown from one feeling to another. Her voice is just wonderful, it makes you shiver. I’m really happy that I was able to go and see her this time, as I missed it a few years ago. If she ever comes again to Zurich, I’ll go and see her. Buy her new record! ;-)

On the dark side of life…

As long as mankind exists, I persume everyone has dreams. So do I. Recently, when I took a walk on the sun side of Zurich (means, where the really rich ones have their houses), I created a new one. Dream, I mean. I saw these wonderful, meaningful, mysterious houses, almost castles and I realised: I want to have one as well. Not a common one. I want a castle created by H.R. Giger!!! I really adore his work – I especially love how he works with this shocking effect, this kinky kind of humanity in machines, or should I say machinity in humans? It might sound strange if I wish to have a castle and all interiors built by him, but I don’t imagine it as a dark and wicked place, more kind of a huge inlightened home with space to life the dark side of your soul and fantasy…

I’m not getting younger…

Yes, it’s true! As anyone else, I’m not getting younger and learning new lyrics isn’t that easy as it used to. Or it just seems to me. I’m learning a few new songs, one of it is Katy Perry’s “I kissed a girl” (actually, she’s doing a good job with online marketing, her homepage is pretty nice and on the official youtube site, you even find her official background. But nevertheless, I can’t understand why I couldn’t find the official video…). But I’m still messing up parts of it. When I was younger, I could just fly over the lyrics four to five times and I had it – but now, it takes more. Maybe, it also depends on how much I love the song. Not that I don’t like “I kissed a girl” (no comment ;-) hihi) but it’s not really my pitch and so it’s not too much fun to sing it. But one has to be up to date…

When music flows out of me…

I had a real great flow yesterday. I was just thinking about a few things going on in my life at the moment and the words came out my mind like a waterfall. This will become a nice song. Very authentic. In fact, every song of mine is authentic. A 100 percentage me. Whatever bothers me, whatever I feel like, however I think about things, it goes into my songs.

Then, I’m still trying to turn this pre-christmas concert into something that happens. The more people involved, the harder it is ;-)

crazy me

There are weeks, when everything comes together. Weeks, when you think: what the hell?! I just survived such a week. After a very busy weekend without any recreation time, I started the week very early: at 5am! All I wanted on Monday evening was to go to bed. But it seems that I did not want it that much as I found myself sitting in the cinema at 9pm. And the whole week just went on like that and I don’t see any end, as I have a meeting tomorrow at 7:30 to go to the nailstylist. How crazy must I have been to make such an appointment! :-)
